Amnesty International developed a free open source software called
Detekt to detect the presence of surveillance spyware has been launched
by a global coalition of human rights and tech organisations.
The open-source tool has been developed by German security researcher
Claudio Guarnieri.The tool is free and open source software and is
provided as is, without warranties or guarantees of any kind.
According
to Amnesty International, Detekt is a “strike back against governments
who are using information obtained through surveillance to arbitrarily
detain, illegally arrest and even torture human rights defenders and
journalists”.
