Spy Agency Hiring Hackers To Target Terrorist Networks


Hackers!, British spy agency GCHQ is now hiring hackers to develop software to access the computers of a terrorist group and carry out operations to retrieve vital online clues about the location and identity of members of terrorist networks.
The job also aims to help in “detecting and preventing attempts to attack the critical national infrastructure, or seeking to defend government systems against criminals seeking to steal information, identities or money.”
If you’re a student or graduate, you’ll need:
  • To have or expect to gain by September 2016 a 2:1 or above in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or a related discipline; or a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree incorporating ethical hacking, digital forensics or information security.
  • The ability to undertake complex coding tasks and evidence of having done so beyond the basic requirements of a university course.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

If you don’t have relevant academic qualifications, you should have:
  • A thorough understanding of internet communications protocols, including knowledge of how these protocols are commonly secured.
  • An understanding of operating systems and their programming interfaces.
  • The ability to undertake complex coding tasks and evidence of having done so either professionally or as a hobby.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
Successful candidates will receive top-secret (DV) clearance, and a starting salary of £27,913 ($43,700).
